Maria Bercelia’s family had never worked with coffee before. They happened to buy one of the highest farms in the Colombian Cordilleras, a farm they named “Los Angeles” (The Angels). They started to work with the few resources they had, and were soon met with many challenges - one of them not having a road to get the coffee down to a central station, as well as learning that traditional coffee is not profitable. They partnered up with Alejandro Renjifo of Fairfield Trading, an export company that sets high standards for coffee, and were rewarded with great support and soon after, great coffee.
Maria Bercelia and her family plan to plant 3 more varieties this year (2017): Geisha, Pink Bourbon and Castillo Tambo. They are also in the process of remodeling their washing station.
